Javier Baez and Anthony Rizzo swap spots in Cubs batting order against Cardinals

The mission is simple for the Cubs: Win and hope that the Brewers lose to the Tigers, thereby winning the National League Central and receiving three days’ rest.

Or, win and at least earn the right to play the Brewers at Wrigley Field on Monday for a tiebreaker to decide the division title.

In order to win, the Cubs will need to solve rookie Jack Flaherty (8-8, 3.16), who has limited the Cubs to one run while striking out 17 in 10 innings this season.

Manager Joe Maddon has tweaked his batting order, with Javier Baez moving from fourth to third and Anthony Rizzo third to fourth.

Left-hander Mike Montgomery (5-6, 3.99), who allowed 12 hits in five innings of a loss at Busch Stadium on July 27, will oppose Flaherty.

Here is the Cubs lineup:

Murphy 2B

Zobrist RF

Baez SS

Rizzo 1B

Bryant 3B

Heyward CF

Schwarber LF

Contreras C

Montgomery P
