Iowa Cubs host merchandise open house

DES MOINES – In case you’re already missing baseball and experiencing cabin fever, the Iowa Cubs had a way to cure both things on Saturday.

The club hosted an open house at their merchandise shop. That meant that all gear to help fill up your stocking was 20 percent off.

Also stopping by: the big guy himself–Santa Claus. This time, he had Cubbie Bear to help him greet the fans and take Christmas requests.

Organizers say it’s a great way to get fans ready for a new year.

“And you know we’ve been in the offseason for a little while, so we get to see the fans again and people get to see the new stuff that we have for the season,” said Lisa Hufford, the merchandising director for the Iowa Cubs.

In case you still want to get some I-Cubs or Cubs gear in person, you can still head over to Principal Park during the week. You just won’t be able to get quite the same discount you could’ve on Saturday.
