ROCKFORD – Former Cubs player, Mark Grace ‘graced’ Rockford with his presence at the Collector’s Bench on East State Street, where he signed memorabilia, met fans, and took pictures. Even after 18 years since he last played for Chicago, Grace says he finds it flattering that people still remember him after all those years. As for the Cubs making another World Series win anytime soon, he had this to say:
“I think they’re going to vie for it,” Grace said. “The Boston Red Sox are really good, and they’re really young, but the Cubs are the same. They’re young, they’re talented, and I know they’ve got an army of people behind them, that’s for sure.”
Nowadays, Grace keeps himself busy doing pre and post-game for Arizona Diamondbacks TV. However, with the off-season now, Grace says he does what every baseball player is good at – a whole lot of nothin’.
