A player in the Chicago Cubs business will speak at Lewis College about overcoming adversity Feb. 12.
Chris Singleton, who signed with the Cubs in 2017 and performed with the organization’s Arizona League and South Bend teams, will be supplying a presentation titled “Racism, Restoration, Resilience: Conquering the Unthinkable Adversity.” The occasion will be in the Lewis College Dining Area on its Romeoville campus at 5 p.m., in accordance to a news release.
Singleton will discuss about forgiving the white supremacist who murdered his mother, Sharonda Coleman Singleton, in 2015, through the Mother Emanuel AME Church capturing in Charleston, South Carolina.
