The Chicago Bears are on their way back to the playoffs for the first time since 2010 following their win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 15. The victory gave Chicago 10 wins on the year and helped the club clinch the NFC North title. The game had some scary moments for the Bears as quarterback Aaron Rodgers tried valiantly to get his squad back into the game, but the Bears were able to prevail on Sunday afternoon.
When the season began, many believed it was going to be a battle between the Minnesota Vikings and the Packers for the NFC North crown. Chicago entered the year with a brand new head coach in Matt Nagy, as did the Detroit Lions with Matt Patricia. After losing the Week 1 opener to the Packers at Lambeau Field, the Bears entered their bye in Week 5 with a 3-1 record. After a pair of losses to the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots, Chicago has rattled off seven wins in their last eight games. The Bears’ lone loss came against the New York Giants with backup quarterback Chase Daniel under center in place of starter Mitch Trubisky.
Nagy has changed the culture of the organization in a hurry and has made general manager Ryan Pace look like the smartest guy in the room with his decision to hire Nagy this offseason. The Bears will end the regular season with at least 10 wins and could host at least one playoff game.
